If I Only Had a Brain, or What Happens When the Scarecrows Run the World

No spiffy neato article analysis today.  Nope nope nope.  I actually found some great ones, too, on Afghan humor, that apparently there’s a show on TV here called “Laugh Bazaar” that wasn’t even remotely possible during the time of the Taliban, and then I found this blog written by this retired Army officer where he details what it was like to be stuck in Kabul with an “expert” who was kind enough to point out that all true Muslims have beards.

And these are the folks writing the position papers deciding foreign policy for places like this.

Between the brain dead tree huggers (if you’re offended by that, you’re brain dead…not all the tree huggers are brain dead…met some really bright ones already) and the Islamofascist nonsense that the warmongers are spewing about the “fact” that all the Muslims want to kill everyone and take over the world, it’s a wonder the United States ever gets anything done.

Go find a field, chase off some birds, but for the love of all that’s good on this earth, stay home.  Don’t breed.  Don’t teach college.  Find an island where you and all the other idiots can sit and impress each other with your vast storehouse of non-practical knowledge.

I’d even be willing to take a tax hike to provide for your welfare.  You know who I’m talking about, all those of you who serve no useful purpose.  You’re not intellectuals for the sake of enlightening the rest of us or advancing the cause of mankind, you’re intellectuals so that you can sit around with like-minded folks and congratulate yourselves on how smart you are about everything.

Amazing, all this without even leaving the house.

Or you come to places like this, take a few meetings with people that the people who run this place want you to take meetings with, and go home and tell the American people you’ve got ALL the answers to this place.

I’m not talking about teachers, or social workers…I’m not saying we should all be able to take up violent action against those who would oppress others (although I’m a huge fan of mandatory military service if you want to vote…Heinlein and I are eyeball to eyeball on that one), but I am saying if you’re not contributing to the larger society, then please...go…away.
